Suitable elastic elongation scope for different applications
The suggested elastic elongation ratio scope for different applications
Elongation ratio is one of the most important elastic parameters, it is a percentage of the extended length under maximum lengthwise pulling force at the breaking point against the original length. For example, if a length 10cm elastic be pulled to the breaking point up to total length 22cm, then extended length is 22cm-10cm=12cm, and its elongation ratio is 12cm/10cm*100%=120%.
For woven elastic, the elongation ratio scope of Grade A is 120%~150%, especially for the waistband usage 110% may be workable but we suggest no less than 120%; But, for shoulder strap or bra strap usage, the workable elongation ratio is 60%~100%, and the best we suggest is 70%~90%. For other usage such as edge binding, headband or hair tie, make sure the elongation ratio no less than 110% and no more than 160%.
For knitted elastic, elongation ratio of Grade A is 120%~180%, for the waistband usage should be no less than 120% though 110% may be workable, for shoulder strap or bra strap control the elongation ratio 60%~100% is advisable, for other trimming or decorative usage, make sure the elongation ratio no less than 100% and no more than 200%.
All the suggestion above are for reference only, we should pay attention to the elongation ratio scope according to different usage and application.
